Decorated candle jars!!

Here I decorated a few of the 1/2 pint candles. These ones are taller than the other ones I have so I had to get a little creative to get the labels on them, lol. Mostly I added the name of the candle as shown here, some ribbon on the lid and below you can see the caution sign. I just used my cricut to cut out 2" circles and added the label to them.

OSW "One Sheet Wonder"

I've always wanted to try these. I saw some like these when I was blog hopping but never got a chance to try it out. But I was excited to try these at my stamp gathering last Friday! Jeni did up about 9 cards with one 12x12 designer paper, plus added all the directions for me, YAY!!

My daughter and I actually worked on this one. The best thing about the OSW cards is all the embellishments you can add to it. Jeni says "The more embellishments the better!" We put the OSW square in the corner, stamped a pretty image, added stamped flowers and colored a white flower to add to this. Also added some die-cut butterflys for extra color and dimension. All in all we were thrilled with the end result! Can't wait to get the rest of the sheet cut up to make the other cards also.

Also with the OSW cards, you can stamp images on the sheet instead of using designer paper. This is good for being able to choose what your paper looks like. You could use bold images with lots of color choices or stamps you can color. I personally wouldn't want to color that much, but you could probably use a sponge or daubers to get good color coverage. And since I'm rambling, you could use the non-bold images and not color them, just use different colors when you stamp them to make them stand out more.

In Color Birthday Cards

My Mom got a pack of the new In Color paper so I had to try it out for her, (per her request, lol.) Even though I do not have the new in color ink, I was able to match them up pretty good. I used RH red and olive ink on the first card, plus the ribbon is olive as well. I used a non-SU stamp for the bird card, cut it out and used patterned paper to add the cute decorations for the beak, wing & flower. I did use the designer paper in the in colors for the Cheers to You card and some scrap patterned paper for the bird card.

Scrapbook Pages

Yep, I've been working on my scrapbooking, whoo hoo! This one is of my son's Kindergarden. I was really happy to get the die-cuts of the cute dustdevils from the school. I've been really cricut happy when it comes to my scrapbook pages.

This one is my daughter's freshman year in high school, and yes I am about 2 years behind, lol. I was so happy to find Stampin' Up selling the smooch spritz. I was having a really hard time trying to incorporate silver into the pages and so the spray all over the pages for background was awsome. Plus, if I mess up and make splotches, well all the better!!

I wanted to show you this page cause I was really happy with the notes at the bottom. Its from the Hannah Montana cartridge and it was fun to be able to add it to the page. I added some bling to the notes to make them even more fun.

Stampin' Club

My parents came up the same weekend of my stamp club, I was the hostess, so my Mom got to come with me. It was alot of fun, we sorta worked in stations, so we got to work at our own speed which was nice. I was really happy about making the Christmas card. I just recently bought the Delightful Decorations stamp set, so this was really inspiring for me! Plus I really wanted to see how the sweet treat cups worked and this spider is just sooo cute, lol. All in all the class was alot of fun, and now I have new stuff to play with. I think I better get started on the Halloween treats for my son's class. I was thinking of doing sour cream containers.... will post about that later.

Crochet Fun!!

Well its been forever since I've posted to my blog. I have been working on lots of stuff this summer and since school started I've actually been able to get some scrapbooking done. I have had this crochet pattern for a lot of years and just got it out a couple weeks before school started and just got to work...

I just love these colors, they must truely be my favorite since I picked them out years ago and still love them, especially together. This is called a Bargello Blanket, and I just love the wavy look, plus the back looks like straight lines, so I am thinking it will be an awsome reversable also, LOL!
The colors are: Black, Claret, Rose, Black, Teal & Pale Green! And because the colors switch after every 2 rows I don't get bored, lol.

Here is a chore cart I made for Dillon. I used my cricut with a variety of cartridges, including spongebob. I got it lamenated and used velcro strips to attach them so he can start over each week. I made the little treasure chests and hamburgers for him to attach each time he gets a chore done.

I also did an exercise chart for my daughter. She will use a visa-a-vi marker to write the minutes she does each exercise. Thanks for looking!

For Teacher

Here is a flower pot I made for Dillon's kindergarden teacher. I used the 'All in the family' stamp set for the teacher and the kids on the pot, and used a random alphabet stamp set to put Kindergarden Rocks on it. (kindergarden rocks was the name of their kindergarden program.) I then used my cricut to make the flowers, attached them to kabob sticks and planted two Columbine flowers in the pot.

Cricut Expression!!

I recently got my cricut expression in the mail, I was so excited. Its the special holiday edition so its blue with pretty designs on it. It came with the pictured cartridges. I can't wait to have a few spare minutes to work with them. I did make a few volleyball borders with my sports mania cartridge and they look awsome. Maybe after Easter is over I'll find a couple of minutes to get in there and really get some of my scrapbook pages done. Wish me luck!!

My order came in last week, so I am excited to get going on my scrapbooking!! We've been very busy this past week and weekend though, my Dad came to visit looking for a job here so they can finally move to be closer to us!!! Plus we ended up trading off my yukon denali for an awsome 2010 truck! I don't think I've ever owed a brand new car before so we are like parking way in the back of parking lots, freaking out about dirt and garbage, its pretty funny actually.

Anyway, back to scrappin. I am getting some cool ideas on my daughter's high school pages. I was thinking of doing this with the purple and black paper so there are both colors on there, but how to add in the silver?? I could add ribbon down the middle or maybe spray silver ink on the paper, that would be cool. If you have any ideas, please leave me a comment!!

New Cartridges!!

I am so excited to have new cricut cartridges to play with. Now I just need the time, lol. I think I will love each one of these and cannot wait to get them into some scrapbooks. I just have to get a Stampin' Up order placed and get my cricut warmed up. My son's 3rd birthday was spongebob themed so I'm excited to scrapbook those. The Hannah and Teardrop carts are great looking fonts, so I'm looking forward to that. Plus the Hannah cart has cool music note fonts that I can't wait to use in my daughter's scrapbook since she loves music and sings in the choir at school. Plus the sports mania has awsome volleyball stuff thats really hard to find, so I'm excited about that as well. Plus, once my son starts getting into sports this cart will come in great for that too.

I hope to get in my scrapbook room sometime this coming week. Good thing too cause I have January Christmas cards to make up for since I'm not getting as much done as I wanted to, aagghh, lol. Keep checking back and be sure to leave comments or suggestions, they are always welcome.

Valentine's Day

I finally sat down in my craft room with Dillon and we came up with this design for his Valentine's Day cards, so to speak. The school doesn't really allow for Valentine's Day cards but were wanting us to bring 21 small items for the teacher to put in bags for each kid. I love making treats and just didn't want to do something plain jane, ya know. Hope I'm not bending any rules, but they are treats, just decorated up a bit, lol. He did put his name on the back so everyone will know its from him.

Here is a close up look at them. We put the fun dip inside the folds and stapled them in. I did fold the fun dip to make it smaller. I used red and lilac paper with the Sweet Talk stamp set. The purple was really easy to get all sorts of different colors of hearts on it. I used red, green, orange, purple and yellow. The red was a little harder cause the colors didn't really show up that much different, but I used red, blue and purple on those.

I really hope the kids like their treats! Thanks for looking!!

All Finished

Well I got it all finished, with the help of my son who kept asking if I was finished every other hour, LOL. I probably should have made it a little longer, but he said he was completely happy with it!

Here he is wearing it. He's so cute, he was asking me where he should put it like it was a rare gem or something. It makes me smile cause I know he really likes it.

Crochet Fun!

Dillon has been wanting a scarf so I told him I could make hime one. I found a simple instruction online and tryed it out. It seemed easy enough for me to read, lol, so we headed to Kings to find some colors he would love. He picked this out. He also picked red, his favorite color, and we are going to use that to put some fringe on it. If this turns out ok, I might make some for my neices and nephew. Of course my nephew's birthday is in April so if I'm going to do that I better get a move on. One good thing about crocheting or knitting is you can sit pretty much anywhere and work on it.

New Stuff

Ok, here is a great Christmas present I got from my wonderful parents. This bookcase fits in perfectly in my craft room. I'm still in the process of cleaning my craft room, as there is stuff still laying in piles on my floor, lol. Hope to do that soon, but who knows, cause I am also in the process of planning my daughter's 16th birthday party. I really hope we think of everything, we've never done this before!!

Anyway keep checking back for more posts, I hope to get some things going soon.

(By the way, the bookcase is from wal-mart. I might have to get another one for myself, lol.)

Happy New Year!!

Just wanted to wish all of you a Happy New Year! This is the time when we start thinking of resolutions for the upcoming year. One of my new year's resolutions is going to focus on my blog. I haven't yet decided exactly where that focus will lead my blog, but I am busy coming up with some new ideas.

One idea was to do my Christmas cards year round. I waited until a couple of weeks before Christmas to even get started and I was left short this year. AAHH! Talk about stressful. So to spare myself that stress next year, I am going to try to get a few Christmas cards done each month. If you are trying this challenge also, please feel free to comment and share your ideas with me, I would love that.

Another idea was to show more of what I can create with my cricut. I am hoping to get the expression in a couple of months so I'll be able to do bigger projects, but until then I am going to try to get my cricut going on some cards and scrapbook layouts.

Which leads me to my third idea: Scrapbook pages! I am getting behind on school albums and family fun albums, so I am hoping to get some great layouts done to share.

Let me know what your resolutions are for the upcoming year.

Christmas Cards

Here are two of the cards I am making for my Mom to send out for Christmas. I got these ideas from the creative ladies on splitcoaststampers.com. The original cards were made with burgundy and artichoke, but I ran out of paper in those colors, aaah, lol. So I used Garden Green and Rich Razzleberry for this one and Moss for the one below. I really like both of these cards and they were fun to do. These stamps sets are retired so it was interesting finding these ideas, lol. Anyway, I did use my cuttlebug to get the background swirls on the card below and also my cricut to cut the little decorations. I used a stamp roller for the cards on the left, plus some stickles for the berries. I did use dimensionals for the main pictures to make it stand out a little more.

Spiders & Monsters

Here are a few of the peppermint candies we made. These ones are the ones Dillon made, I forgot to get a picture of the ones I made. We made these for my daughter's friends and volleyball team. I used eggplant, pumpkin and galore for those ones and put different color ribbons on them. Mariah put the names and jersey numbers on the backs of them for her volleyball team.

Dillon made these little guys by himself, I helped a little with the spider legs and getting the eyes lined up right, but he did all the punching and drawing and glueing. He did really good!!

Halloween Treats

It has been a while since I've posted. But now that the kids are feeling better and Halloween is just around the corner, I was able to get some treats done. Here are the treats I made for my son's kindergarden class. I used an 8 1/2 X 2 3/4 paper, scored it at 3 3/4 & 4 3/4. I stapled some candy corn into it and then decorated the outside. I used my circut to cut out the spiders, and put some google eyes on them.

Here is close up picture showing how many I made. There are 22 kids in his class, plus I made some extras for the teachers too. Dillon also signed the back of each one, so everyone will know who they came from, lol.

Girl Fun

I love the rockin wheel but haven't been able to use it much, so I decided it would look good as a subtle background. I used sage for the card, layered it with cocoa and saffron. I used the pocket fun stamp set and cut them out, colored the girls and used dimensionals to pop them up from the card. I also used the flower and scallop punches and added the ribbon. Hope you like it!!

I am really happy with the way this one turned out. I finally had some free time in my craft room to come up with my own card, lol. These colors look awsome together, I think. I used sage for the card, layered with brocade blue and white. The images are stamped in sage, brocade and pumpkin. I cut the little hats out and put them on with dimensionals. I used some ribbon that I've had for years but never used, its a zigzag sortof ribbon, but it looked perfect with this card, under the layers it looks more like a scallop. I stamped the numbers on a seperate paper so whoever uses the card can put the age on themselves by cutting the number (s) out and adhereing it to the card front. Or if you want to be creative, you can put the number on the inside of the card for some added suspense, lol.

Birthday Card Fun

Hey there, its been a while since I've had anything new to post. The start of school really gets one busy with new schedules. With my 5 year old in Kindergarden in the afternoon, we have to eat lunch aroung 10:45 am so that kinda throws our whole day out of whack. Plus my 10th grader is only home for about 2 hours after school before she heads back for volleyball, so that shortens our supper time too. Hopefully we'll get through this week without any incidents, lol.

Anyway, here are a couple of cards I made. The butterfly one I got from splitcoaststampers, but changed up the ovals to the scallop circle and circle punches with the 'Wishing You' stamp set. I liked it so much I wanted to use the same type of layout for a guy card. So the 'Power Up' card is what I came up with. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

For the Butterfly card I used: Garden Whimsy & Wishing you stamp sets. Certainly celery, white, rose red and plum cardstock. Ink: Celery, plum & rose red.

For the Power tool card I used: Power Up stamp set. Garden Green, white & Navy cardstock. Ink: Pumpkin, navy, celery & black. Used a brad that looks like a screw to the black ribbon.

I used dimensionals to the scallop & square sayings so they wouldn't look smooshed to the ribbon, lol.

More Christmas Cards!

Trying to get my Christmas ideas flowing! I've done the snowflake one before, but this one was done using Bashful Blue, which I think is my favorite of the colors. I embossed the swirled tree onto the blue scallop rectangle. I thought this card needed some color so I added the red ribbon and I just loved it. I am not used to non-layering so this one was different for me, lol. I used an older stamp set on the saffron card. I made my Mom bring me all her stamps when they visited last month and just love this set, but its awfully hard to find ideas for it on splitcoast cause its been retired, but I found this one and had to give it a try. I did emboss the stars and swirls in gold (it looks better close up), and I used the music cuttlebug folder on this too, sortof gives it that image of singing carols.

Birthday Fun

Found these cute card ideas on, you guessed it, splitcoaststampers, lol. I haven't used this stamp set for a long time and really needed some ideas since the stamps are small. Multiple images, that works, lol. The frog card I used brocade, navy and white. Fishy card I used black, orange, baja and white. I used the small circle punches to make the bubbles and lined them a little with waterfall stickles. I love the way they turned out and I love the little star brads in the corner of the fishy card.

Look Who's Turning

I loved this sample in the catalog and just had to try it myself. I used saffron for the card base, the ribbon and the cute litte octopus. Plum for the hippo and moss for the ostrich. I used the paper piercer pack for the outside edge of the white paper and added a star brad to the corner. I stamped the numbers on a seperate sheet of paper so whoever uses this card can cut out the age of the person they are giving it to and glue it in the upper right corner next to; 'Look who's'. I used dimensionals on the animals so they pop out from their backgrounds.

I can't wait to make more with this stamp set.

Snow Swirled!

These colors make great Christmas colors, they are artichoke and burgundy. This card was fun to make, its got embossing on the star and the greeting and brads on the tree for decoration. The stamped snowflakes and the tree are stamped in artichoke also. I used the snow swirled stamp set.

Christmas in July

I just love these colors. I found this simple but wonderful card on splitcoaststampers and just had to make a few. I really like the simplicity of them and the chocolate color blends in really nice. One is olive/chocolate the other is red/chocolate. The stamp set used is Snow Swirled. I can't wait to use this set on more fun stuff!! Oh yeah.... I used some little sparkles on the big snowflakes after I took this picture, it adds that extra something!

Here is a fun 4th of July/Summer card I recieved from a swap. I really like this card. It looks like a texture plate from SU was used to get the background on the red, and I love the brads in the corner and the way she used the ribbons! All around I just love this card.

All in the Family Birthday

I really need to get going in making birthday cards. So I dragged out my All in the Family stamp set and accessories. This is what I came up with. This card uses Pixie Pink, Sage Shadow and White. I did sponge the white scallop with Sage and used my colored pencils to color in the little girl and her balloon. The Happy Birthday was done using my cricut, same colors and I shadowed it. I used my cuttlebug swiss dots folder also and some yellow ribbon.

Little Basket

I found this great tutorial for this cute little basket on splitcoaststampers and my son just had to have one. He picked the colors and everything, lol. I think it turned out awsome. We used purley pomegranite, yo yo yellow and pacific breeze. He was very happy with it.

Cupcake Fun

Love this set. I'm trying to make a few different cards using the same stamp set to put into an A2 card holder. This one is made with Amethyst, saffron and white. The balloon in stamped with amethyst and I used the swiss dots cuttlebug folder for half of the card front and used the black ribbon to offset the two sides. I used the watercolor crayons to color in the cupcakes.

Card Boxes

I found a great tutorial for boxes, that will fit cards and envelopes, on splitcoaststampers and decided to make a couple different ones. So I made one for Halloween cards and one for Birthday cards. The purple bottom is stamped with a birthday wheel from SU. I used the scallop edge punch to decorate the saffron top. I didn't do the scallop edge on the Halloween one cause I used Halloween patterned paper.

Dishwasher Fun

Don't you just hate it when you don't remember if the dishes in the dishwasher are clean or dirty?? I have been wanting a sign like this for my dishwasher for forever. I finally decided to use my Disney Font cricut cartridge to make one. Its not shown here but I used magnet strips attached to the ribbon to hang it on the dishwasher. As I soon found out the dishwasher is not as magnetic as a fridge so this is not working out well. I would love some ideas on making this sign hang on my dishwasher, just leave me a comment please.

I used orchid and yellow for the 'clean' side. I put a stick on flower to cover the brad from the other side and used saffron ribbon.

Here is the dirty side. I used choc chip and saffron for this side and used the brown brad to attach the ribbon, which on this side is choc chip.

Since this was my Mickey font cartridge I used the cute Mickey Mouse ears on both sides.

Yummies

I saw some punch animals on chicknscratch blog and had to try them out. I wrapped up a couple of candy bars then added ribbon to keep them from falling out. (plus it added that extra embellishment I wanted.) I added the punch animals and used my cuttlebug to add the tag to it. The stamp is from SU called Yummy, perfect, lol.

Easter Pages

I finally got some Easter pages done. These are just of us coloring Easter eggs, but I used my cricut to make the title, the bunny face and the baskets and eggs. I also used my new Mickey Font cartridge to make the 2009 at the bottom of the page. I used egg patterned paper that I got from Cherished Friends.

I found this awsome cup at the dollar store. I didn't have a plan for it when I bought it, but grabbed those rubons right away. They were a little difficult to get onto the cup cause its got curves, but I got er done, lol. I am going to use it to hold some of my SU markers! Thanks for looking!

Glossy Fun

I've been wanting to try the glossy accents, but wasn't sure how it worked. I finally got some and found this awsome card on splitcoaststampers and wanted to try it out. I just love this stamp set; tart-n-tangy. I used the glossy accents on the single orange thats on the ribbon. It easier to see if you click on the picture. I think it turned out really good and can't wait to try it on other cards or scrapbook pages. Thanks for looking!

Mother's Day

Gotta love rub-ons. I got these at Cherished Friends, they were the ones she had on sale for a dollar, whoo hoo!! I found these plates and stands at Wal-Mart. It was fun deciding which ones to put on which plate, but here is my end result. These were a Mother's Day gift to our Mom's. I am glad they liked them and I thought the stands made them look really elegant and I am glad I found them in black, it really goes with the black and white format. Thanks for looking!

Punch Dress!

I really like the way this turned out. I got the inspiration for this card on splitcoaststampers.com. It was really fun to make. I used Olive & Saffron colors and some patterned paper I had. I stamped the cherries onto the patterned paper after I punched them out. I used the large oval punch and the word window punches. I made the square for the dress a little bigger than my square punch cause it looked just a bit better in the bigger size. I then glued the oval punches together to make the skirt, added the square (I stamped this with the hot to dot wheel), added the folded word window punches for the straps and used the brads to attached them to the dress, and added the ribbon.

Then I made the cool hanger. I had some wire in my drawer and decided to get creative... It only took me two tries... LOL. All in all I really liked the way it looks and I even was able to make sure no wires would poke anything. I added the brad and made it stick up a little so I could hang the wire hanger on it. I used dimensionals on the dress to make it look like it was hanging.

Camping

I Finally got my Camping paper bag album done. Worked on the front cover at Julie's a couple of weeks ago, but didn't have time to work on the inside. I got some cute camping paper at Cherished Friends yesterday so I set to work in the inside pages today. It feels good to get in my scrap room, its been a long time since I had time to be in there.

I used a Stampin' Up punch to make the pages easier to turn and I glued the paper bag openings closed so they wouldn't come open when your turning the pages. Of course if you keep them open you could add extra pictures or notes, but I decided to close them up this time.

I am going to get to work on a recipe paper bag book next. I need to get more food looking papers to get this done. I was able to get it stared, but need more variety in paper so it doesn't get boring.

Top Notes, gotta love em!

Making these cards was alot of fun. We went to my friend Julie's house and made these cards using her big shotz. We used the tope note die to cut out the top notes in 3 different colors. We cut the carmel top notes on the lines with scissors so it would fit into the colored top notes. (I do wish there was an easier way to do this though, maybe some sort of template?) We added the coordinating ribbon and attached it to black cardstock and then to a carmel card. I love the way they turned out. I think I'll use mine for my Mother's Day cards.

My birthday was the 26th of April so Holly & Julie got me flowers, a cute little tiny cake, and made me a cute birthday card. Then we had fun making the above cards and Julie made an awsome pasta and bread lunch. It was exactly what I needed so I was glad I went. (With everyone else in my house sick, it was nice to get away and have some fun!)

Easter Book

Little bit of Easter fun. I made this cute little book for my daughter for Easter using my cricut machine. I used the locker talk cartridge for the book itself, covers and pages. I used the doodlecharms cartridge for the bunny heads and baskets, and the cuttin' up cartridge for the letters. I used her favorite color of course, purple, and tied some cute chicky ribbon on the rings I used the bind the booklet.

Here is a page from the inside. The book was actually a coupon of sorts. She was able to get a Nancy Drew game and I made this page for her to keep notes from the game.

This was alot of fun to make and pretty easy, the hardest part was selecting the colors, LOL!

I really had fun doing these cool layouts for my daughter's middle school years. This one was especially fun cause I got to play with brads, ribbon, my cricut and glitter! whoo hoo!! They are the Hornets so I printed out a bunch of hornets in different sizes and cut them out by hand. It was not fun cutting but well worth the effort cause they look great on many of these pages.

I actually got started on her 7th grade too, yay, lol. I just love adding the embellishments, they really bring a page together. I got to use my cuttlebug on this one. The background of the first picture with the cool ribbon, (Which, by the way, are actually two ribbons glued together,) and the other is the Music die-cut. I used the music note embossing folder on it and it turned out awsome.

This is a very neat project that all us gals got to do at retreat. Stephanie provided the tile and stand plus the vinyl we used to cut and transfer all our cool sayings. We got this particular saying from the internet, downloaded it and the cricut expressions cut it out for me. Then it was simple enough to peel the excess vinyl from the words, put them on transfer paper and adhere them to the tile. (hint: smaller fonts tend to be way more difficult to peel away, so make sure the fonts are of the right size before cutting.)

Retreat Fun

Wow, retreat was alot of fun. Scrapbooking, visiting, eating, maybe some sleeping, lol. The ranch was beautiful, the food was great, and time for myself was priceless!
This was my first time to the scrapbooking retreat and I can't wait until the next one. It was so much fun to scrapbook all day. The ladies were great and fun with lots of inspiration.
I decided to get caught up on my daughter's school pages, I was behind about 3 1/2 years. I got her 6th grade done and almost got the 7th grade done. I'll try to post some layout pics later so keep an eye out for them!

I totally cased this card cause I just love it. I was getting some inspiration from splitcoast and ran across this and just hade to try it. I changed it up a little by adding the ribbon and changing the saying. I was worried about lining up the circle punches, but did pretty good for just winging it, lol. I added glue the the little bees wings and added holographic glitter. I did try to heat set them with the heat gun, but not sure it works that way, lol.

Anyway, here is a picture of the inside. To put the ribbon around I just cut a small line down the seam of the card and ran the ribbon through that and the punch.

Bookmark Fun

Hi all. I have been busy getting ready for retreat, but wanted to do something different. I grabbed a bookmark and added patterned paper to it and corner rounded the corners. Then I added a cute eyelet to thread the ribbon though. I wanted to do something simple so I grabbed my Penny Black clear stamps and layered them onto the scallop punch, and last but not least I added the cute "have a great day" stamp to the bottom. I added four different images so they are different on both sides.

I love reading so this will be a cool bookmark to me to use. I am getting ready to read 'Evermore' by Alyson Noel. I hope its good. I have to get it read by the 10th cause the new P.C. & Kristen Cast book is coming out then. They write the 'Marked' series which my daughter & I both really like. This ones called 'Hunted' if anyone is interested.

Retreat

Well I am going to a scrapbook retreat for a weekend and I am getting really excited. Its only about 1 week away.

I'm trying to get stuff ready to get lots of pages done. I have gotten way behind on my daughter's school pages so I am hoping to get caught up on about 3 school years. I wish there was more retreat time to scrapbook but I will take whatever I can get. I am excited about getting some just ME time too. I can't wait to meet all the great gals that are going to be at the retreat.

Valentine

Got these done just in time, of course it took me longer to post, lol. These are the treats for my son's preschool class & teachers. We bought the cute make your own candy necklaces, so I put toppers on them and he signed his name on the back, very cute. The cute boxes were made for the teachers. I used my cricut and used the tags, bags & boxes cartridge that I borrowed from Julie to make them. Dillon also signed the back of those too. The valentine box was one I made for him last year to hold his goodies. They made envelopes this year which was good since there were more goodies than what would've fit into the box, lol.

Here is the swap card I made for this months swap. Its supposed to have pink in it, plus layering and at least one embellishment. I had a little cuttlebug fun on this one, lol. I used the swirls for the white background, and the swiss dots on the pink scallop rectangle. I used some red stickles to make the cherrys stand out. Then added the gingham ribbon and actually made a bow. I've never been able to make good bows so I was really excited about this one, LOL.

Envelope Box!

Yay, I finally made an A2 box, as I hear they are called. Its a cute box to put envelopes and cards in, or any other items you want too. I've been wanting to make one for a while now and even got some transparent film from Julie to try the cover. The pictures show the transparent cover on the box but the other cover I made is the one next to it with the scallops. I used the word by word BG stamp on that one. The bottom picture shows the transparent top a little better. I used tangerine for the bottom of the box and guava for the top and I am going to use the stitched orange ribbon to wrap around the box once I fill it, then I am going to make another box bottom to use with the transparent top.

This was a fun project and would make nice gifts for those who love homeade cards but don't make them. Plus you could also sell these as sets.

I found these neat make-your-own candy necklaces at Wal-Mart. I thought the preschool kids would love them for V-Day. I just need to figure out how I want to wrap them up, so to speak. They are already in baggies so I could maybe do a small topper, or do a matchbook sorta thing like I did for the Christmas ones, but I'm just not sure. CD Case

I had so much fun making this cd case. I almost forgot to post it cause I made this for my daughter for Christmas and couldn't post it until after she got it, lol.

I bought a movie from one of those Redbox's and of course didn't want to give it to her in the ugly redbox case so I searched splitcoaststampers and found a cd case tutorial. It was so easy to make so I was able to have more fun decorating!

I used my cricut to cut out the title of the movie as well as the cakes and the girl doll. I used some decorative scissors for the cute little border. All in all it was a fun project and she liked it alot.

Party Card

Here is the card I made for my daughter's birthday. I wanted it to match the wrapping paper she picked up so I used plum and rose. I used the seeing spots stamp set and a couple of the penny black clear stamps. I colored them in with the colored pencils and went over them with a water brush. I think she liked it and her party was a big hit with only one problem. The stylist we reserved to do the makeover/sleepover party didn't show up, no call or anything. We were all mad and really bummed, but we made up for it by heading to the movie, Bride Wars. That was a funny movie.

Birthday Invites!

Mariah is going to be 15 soon and we are getting ready for her party. These invitations were a little timeconsuming cause the letters had to be glued, but I'm really happy with the way they turned out. I used my cricut, which was fun, for these cards. I used the marker first and then switched the marker with the blade and cut out the letters. These are just a flip over card, meaning you just flip them over to see the party information instead of opening a card. We named her party Blockbuster cause they are going to watch a movie, the goody bags are going to have popcorn and candy in them and we are having soft drinks also. Plus she decided she wanted to do a special type of game, so we are asking everyone to wear their favorite hat and the winner gets a prize. (We just have to figure out what prize to give them, lol. Any ideas let me know!)

These invitations are for the 3 friends that she is inviting for a sleepover/makeover party after the blockbuster party. We are ordering pizza, have a stylist come and braid the girls hair and then Mariah is treating them to a movie. I think its going to be lots of fun, I just hope I survive it, LOL!

Small V-Day card

I wanted to make a quick card to send with a MAW for a group I'm in. I watercolored the mouse and heart before I cut it out, then I used dimensionals to pop him out a little on the card. I used the Chocolate and Pink paper with some matching ribbon. I also used the swirls cuttlebug embossing for the background.

The size is a 3x3 so it was easy and fun to do.

Tealight fun!

Finally things are starting to slow down now that Christmas is over. The new year is almost here and it feels like 2008 went by way too fast. I've been seeing lots of Valentine stuff on blogs and thought I would get out my Valentine stamp sets and try out an idea I found on splitcoaststampers a while ago.

I used the regal rose and some lite pink vellum for this one, with a watermellon red candle. Its a fairly simple construction. Its a piece of cardstock that is 3X8.5, scored at 2,4,6, &8. Then you cut about a 1/4" off of the 8" score line. Then you center and punch out the tags inbetween each score line (4 in all.) Take any type of punch and go along the top for the cute decoration. Then you stamp your images on the vellum, attach them to the tag pieces and use your sticky strip to close it up. Put it over a tealight and your done.

You can use any type of stamps, punches or border (decorated scissors) and make this for any season or just for every day decoration. Please be careful lighting and blowing the candle out.

Busy, Fun Christmas

Hello everyone, I hope your Christmas was as fun as mine!! We got to visit family in Wyoming the week before Christmas, it was really nice, but very short. The roads going there were awful, but coming home was much better. It took us about 14 hours to get there and only a little over 8 to get home, so that should give you an idea on how bad the roads were. Salt Lake was the worst, I've never seen SL people go so slow, lol.

We did get home for Christmas and had a nice time opening gifts, playing with our stuff, eating roast beef, yummy, and just hanging out and enjoying eachother. My hubby and kids got me a scor-pal and some scallop square nesties (below). I can't wait to use them, my craft room door hasn't even been opened for a couple of weeks now, i'm starting to have withdrawls, lol.

I also got this lovely scensty candle pot from my mom and dad in law. I just love it and it works really good. I plugged it in and you could smell the candle scent in all our back rooms. Most candles smell good in the general area, but this one actually made it to the other rooms, I was really impressed.

Kiddie Treats

These are little matchbook treats. I just love this little snowman. I originally wasn't going to color him cause I just didn't have time, but my daughter chimed in and said she would color them, yay!! Then Dillon piched in and filled baggies of marshmallows, so we had sortof a small assembly line going on, lol.

Here is a side view so you can see the marshmallows inside. I stapled them to the flap and then tucked the picture part in, just like matchboxes do. I really like these, the cardstock is 3 by 8.5, and scored at 1 & 5.

Preschool Christmas Treats

I completely forgot about making treats for Dillon's preschool. I found this awsome little creation on splitcoaststampers yesterday. I did the oval a little different cause the directions confused me, lol. Inside these cute boxes is a pkg of hot cocoa mix and two jumbo marshmallows that I dipped in peppermint candy pieces. The recipe is really simple, you put some confectioners sugar in a bowl, add water until the consistency is right, put a toothpick in the marshmallow and roll it in the sugar, then roll it in the candy pieces, place them on wax paper and pop them in the freezer until they come off the paper easily (about 20 min). I then put them in a little baggie, tied it with ribbon and placed them in the box. I hope the teachers like them.

Tile Coasters!!

Here are some of the tile coasters I made my Mom for her birthday. I bought these tiles at Home Depot. I washed and dryed them to get any dust off before stamping them. I've heard you are supposed to use the stazon ink, but I really wanted to use colors that were not in stazon, so I did. Then I sprayed an acrylic sealer on them so if they got wet the non-stazon ink wouldn't run. I used the french script for the background and then used the Sketch It stamp set for the flowers. The spray sorta made the stazon script stand out more, but everyone said they like it that way.

I put felt squares on each corner on the backs so they wouldn't move or scratch the surface and then I wrapped ribbon around them to give to her.

It was fun to stamp on tiles and they make great gifts cause they are fun, easy and almost everyone can use coasters. Thanks for looking!!

Christmas Tags

Here are a few of the Christmas tags I made. I got the idea for a Christmas bulb tag from Splitcoaststampers. I first made the Snowman one, but was having a little trouble arranging it on the bulb, then I found my little holly border stamp and was inspired, lol. The colors shown here are amethyst, pink, and red. I used stretchy string on them so I could stretch them around the bow, that way they are easy to turn over to see who they are too.

Preschool Fun

Yay for Christmas trees! My son's preschool is having a craft day this month and I signed up to help out. I got this great idea from a yahoo group I'm in, cricutscraplifters. I was originally going to cut all the triangles with my cricut, but was soon running out of paper. Then I decided the kids were doing really good with scissors so they could cut out the triangles themselves, so I traced 3 different sizes of triangles on green cardstock, punched out the tree trunk using my SU key tag punch, cut stars out using my cricut and bought fun pom poms from Wal-Mart and viola, Christmas Trees. I think the kids will have fun putting these together.

Pink Christmas!

I just had to pull out the pink pirouette and make a Christmas card with it. Here is what I came up with. I used my cuttlebug for the ornament background and stamped the tree in Old Olive and embossed with holographic powder. I also added some ribbon with a cute little stocking brad that I've had since last year and just had to use it, lol! I really like these colors together, they are olive, burgundy and the pink.

Here is a card I blogged about previously but with a few changs. I used amethyst and eggplant instead of navy and bashful blue. Plus I re-arranged the snowflake squares so the main image was front and center instead of toward the bottom. Then I changed up the colors of the snowman's scarf to match. I also added stickles to this one. It really makes the snowflakes and the berry's stand out.

No More Braces!!

Finally no more braces!! I've been waiting to post this for a couple of weeks now, but we were waiting for my parents to come here for Thanksgiving and surprise them. She got the braces off on the 17th of November and she is loving it!!

Thanksgiving was really nice. My parents were here until today, Sunday. We stuffed ourselves, watched movies, and played loads of games. I've never seen Dillon so busy with games before in my life!! lol.

My daughter actually inspired this card. She was experimenting with her own card and got some ideas into my head, love it when that happens. I used the crayon resist technique on the trees and sponged the sky with Navy. The Merry Christmas at the bottom is embossed and looks awsome. I got this clear stamp set of Christmas sayings from Cherished Friends, and it was the only one they had at the time so I am happy that I went ahead and got it. The colors I used on this card are the Old Olive and the Riding Hood Red with some misc ribbon I found at wal-mart. I took some of the cardstock in with me so I could try to match it as good as possible, lol, why didn't I think of that before!! lol.

Cricut Fun

I was playing around with my cricut and made these for my son. The light was actually a surprise cause I was cutting out circles to make into Christmas bulb tags for gifts, but the scrap piece looked like a stop light sign so I used red, yellow and green to finish it up. He liked it so much I made him the stop and go signs after that. He uses them to play the 'red light, green light' game.

I think I'm going to play around with my cricut to come up with a cute little craft for the preschool kids to do on their craft day coming up in December. If you have any ideas, let me know.

I just love snowmen cards! The night of navy card on the right is done using the dryer sheet technique, and I really like it. It is fun and adds lots of character. You can't really tell from the picture, but there is glitter on the dryer sheet that is over the snowman. It looks really pretty irl. I used the cuttlebug on both of these cards, its fun and easy to use and adds lots of dimension.

I just love this little snowman stamp. That little bird is just the cutest! It was fun making this cute card, I got to use my new stamp and my cuttlebug. I may have to add some background paper, (like the one off of splitcoaststampers,) or make the snowflake squares smaller cause this card tends to be bottom heavy and won't stand up very well, but it was alot of fun to make. It'll be fun to mix up the colors on this one as well, maybe some purples would be really nice.

Christmas w/swirls

This is a card I saw on splitcoaststampers and wanted to try it out. I used Eggplant and Olive. It was a little tricky to get the city of David stamp set positioned just right on the square, but I eventually got it. I used my swirls embossing plate on this one. I think it might be better to add a little glitter to the image or color the ground a bit different, but all in all I think it turned out pretty good.

Snowman!

I just love snowmen, don't you?! I cased this card from splitcoaststampers and I like theses colors together. They are the riding hood red and baja breeze. I am loving my cuttlebug too, the snowflake background and the individual snowflakes are awsome on this card. I'm not sure I like the coloring on this one, I think maybe it could use some watercoloring and some glitter. I have some stickles on order so maybe adding some of those will make the snowflakes pop. I really need to get into my craft room more and get going, Christmas is sneaking up on me!

I actually got a Christmas card made, LOL. I love these colors together. I had to be careful not to mess this one up too much since I got the top note from a friends machine since I don't have one myself. This is kiwi kiss, riding hood red and the cuttlebug snowflake is bashful blue. I added the snowflake brad and the ribbon, plus I embossed the tree with holographic embossing powder. I am happy with the way it turned out, but if I want to make more like this, I'll have to get more top notes. lol

Veteran's Day Parade

Birthday Baskets

Yay, I finally got these done! LOL. These baskets are for my Grandma and my Mom for their birthdays. They are coming to visit for Thanksgiving so I'll be able to give them to them then.

This first one is for my Grandma, and I've posted all the items except the finished tea in my previous posts. It contains a picture frame, notecard holders, candle, owl and tea.

This one is for my Mom. I don't think I posted the coasters yet cause she usually checks my blog from time to time. But since she is on vacation, she probably won't see this until after Thanksgiving. Her basket has a shirt, owl, coasters and the tea mixes. I am going to wrap them both in cellophane and attach a card. I hope they like them.

Tea & Chocolate Mixes

Here are a few of the mixes I made these past few days. I am making Russian Tea and Spiced Teas for my Mom & Grandma's birthdays. They are coming here for Thanksgiving so I will be able to give them their presents while they are here. I am still working on ideas for dressing up the jars but the below picture is a start. I used my sticky strip to wrap the ribbon around the lid. Then I used my nestability scallop circle and my scallop circle punch to make the top. I am thinking of stamping an image in vanilla to put in the center of the punch. I have never done any jar decorating so any ideas while be most welcome. I'll post these again when I get them done.

This jar is filled with the hot cocoa mix for my MIL. I may have to adjust a little but I got these recipes from allrecipe.com, its a great site for all your baking and cooking needs.

There are two of the sour cream containers filled with candy corn, some wrapped nuggets and other chocolates, plus a little pizza box filled with more nuggets. I did add some ribbon to the side slots and on the second basket I added some scallop and circle punches to dress up the sides a little.

Honor Choir

Yay, my daughter made it into the Honor Choir. They rehersed for two full days Monday & Tuesday and performed Tuesday night. The Honor Choir had kids from Spring Creek, Elko, Lowry, White Pine, and one from Jackpot. It was a great performance. When you think that these kids came together on Monday morning and sang beatifully together by Tuesday night, its a really cool thing to see.

Here is one of the guys only song. It was a awsome song and they had us laughing in no time.

These kids are all eligible to audition for the All-State performance. They hold these auditions in January.

Sammiches

I can't believe I forgot to post these. This is the finished product for my son's preschool classmates. I used the big shot top note to make the headers with and used my new trick or treat stamp and colored the 2 R's with my orange marker.

Here is what the back looks like. I wanted to let them know who they were from so I used stamps from the Just Flying By stamp set. There were a total of 20 of these and the headers where in orange, black and eggplant. I hope the kids like them. I think they will be easy for Dillon to hand out and for the kids to take home without tearing them to pieces.

I used my friend Julie's stamp sets for these and also used her big shot to get the headers done. Thanks Julie!!

Thanksgiving Boxes!

I just love these little sized pizza boxes. I got the dimensions from stampinmommyof4. I am making a whole bunch of these for my Aunts and Uncles for Thanksgiving. My parents are going to visit for Thanksgiving so they will be able to take these back with them and hand them out to everyone. I am adding some candy corn and candy pumpkins to baggies to fill the inside, plus I'm adding pictures of the kids for everyone also.

Camping Layout!

I am finally getting some scrapbook layouts out and working on them. This layout actually came from a kit that I've had for a while now. I thought this would be a good way to get me started thinking of doing my other layouts without help from a kit. I really need to get going on a calander I'm making so I thought this would get me inspired! I really like the picture of the trees. My daughter took the camera and aimed it at the sky in the middle of the trees and it turned out awsome.

Candy Corn

More treats! I actually did these little goody holders last year. I used the Autumn Harvest stamp set from Stampin' Up@ and watercolored them. I cut out the middle of the big pumpkin and put candy corn in a baggie and slipped them in so they would show through the pumpkin. My daughter is going to give these yummies to her teachers this year. I really hope they like them.

Teacher's Treats

All finished!! Here are the finished treats for my son's preschool teachers. The individual treats are on my previous posts. I added some syrofoam to the bottom of these buckets so I could get the pencils to stand up and stay in one spot. I crimped some orange and black paper and cut them into strips and crumpled them for the filler to hide the styrofoam, added the treats and some ribbon to the handles and done. I really hope they like them.

Halloween Swaps

Here is my Halloween swap for my stampinswaps group. I made 4 cards, two of the cauldron and two with the cat. I really like the way they turned out. I used my colored pencils and watercolor brushes to blend the colors better. I used Haunting Halloween stamp set. The paper I used was Pumpkin pie, black, vanilla and Halloween DSP.

Here is a close up of the cauldron. I wanted to show this close up cause I used the scratch-n-sniff technique on the bubbly liquid in the cauldron, so now it smells like black cherry, yummy!! lol.

Halloween Containters

This was my first try at the 'Sour Cream Container' and it was very easy. I really like this little container and I'm going to make more. This one was made with Halloween paper and filled with a couple of bite sized candy bars. I added the little spider tag and the halloween ribbon for embellishments.

I am definately going to be making these for Christmas goodies. You can change paper and embellishments to fit any occasion, such as birthdays, wedding favors, and holidays.
